Black Coffee is on Vogue

It’s not only cold coffee that is on trend. More and more people are ditching milk altogether and enjoying their coffee served straight up.

Nowadays there are lots of ways to enjoy black coffee, from the traditional espresso and long black to the many alternative brew methods available such as Batch Brew, Chemex, Pour Over and AeroPress, which have influenced this trend. Filter coffee brewing methods such as these are certainly are not a new phenomenon, however there is an increasing number of people enjoying this type of coffee not only at their local café but at home too. Super easy to prepare and the equipment is far less expensive that an espresso machine.

Lighter roasted coffees and Single Origin coffee are often used to brew filter coffee, highlighting the flavour nuances or the origin.

If you haven’t tried your coffee straight up or experimented with filter coffee, single origins and lighter roasted coffee, give it a shot as this style of coffee is certainly growing in popularity, making it one of the coffee trends to take notice of in 2020.

Sustainable Packaging

Packaging that reduces the environmental impact and ecological footprint is most definitely a trend this year and one that will continue into the future.

Sustainable packaging that meets our needs without compromising future generations and our ecosystems, considers the life cycle of the products, from the start of the supply chain through to end of life and rebirth.

Advancements in Coffee Grinders

Gone are the days of grinders with large dosing chambers. Grind on demand grinders such as the Robur E and the Mythos One are the rage as they enable coffee to be ground on demand, improving the freshness and quality of the coffee. However these grinders are not without their limitations in terms of dose consistency and for those looking for precision and accuracy Baristas resort to manually weighing shots which can prove to be time consuming.

The latest generation of grinders are designed to grind by weight. Initially quite slow the next GEN are far more efficient.
